A Cornfield in Sunlight

By Lydia Joy

This picture represents the harvest, like it says in the Bible: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.” (Mathew 9: 37–38) I was inspired to draw this picture by the beauty I see all around me in the fall. Trees in their splendor, light shining over the mountains, and tall slender corn stalks waving in the breeze. I have always loved to draw, and I am constantly inspired by my friends, teachers, and nature. My favorite medium to draw with is pastel, which is what I used to create this picture. I am so grateful to have been given the chance to draw this wonderful season!
